Thoughts of the day

Mark 15:33-38

“And when the sixth hour had come, darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is translated, “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?”

“And when some of the bystanders heard it, they began saying, “Behold, He is calling for Elijah.” And someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a reed, and gave Him a drink, saying, “Let us see whether Elijah will come to take Him down.”

“And Jesus uttered a loud cry, and breathed His last.”

“And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.” Mark 15:33-38 (NAS) Forward to a friend

John 11:14-27

“Then Jesus therefore said to them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, and I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe; but let us go to him.” Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with Him.”
“So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days. Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles off; and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary, to console them concerning their brother.”

“Martha therefore, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went to meet Him; but Mary still sat in the house. Martha therefore said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. Even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother shall rise again.” Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.”

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord; I have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into the world.” John 11:14-27 (NAS)

The thing to do
+++++++++++++++++++

When you can’t see how you will get it all done, the thing to do is to do what you can. Even when it’s difficult to imagine getting the job finished, the thing to do is to take the first step.

Creating something of value takes time and effort. The thing to do is to make that effort.

Getting beyond the difficult challenges will require persistence and diligence. The thing to do is to keep going.

When you’re not sure where to start, the thing to do is to find some action that will move you forward. Even if you start slowly, it’s much better than falling further behind.

When you don’t know how you’ll continue, the thing to do is to focus on the next effort. The more diligently you work on it, the more good and valuable options you’ll see opening up to you.

Whatever may come your way, the thing to do is to make the most of all that you have to work with. And every moment will move you closer to where you have chosen to go.
